Default Yummy Chocolate Cake

A couple of weeks ago I posted a really yummy chocolate cake recipe in the Recipes forum, and so far have had zilch feedback I have made this cake three times in the last couple of weeks and each time it's gone down a treat with people who don't do low-carb and won't believe that it doesn't have either wheat or sugar in it

I'd really love to know if it has the same impact on others or if my friends were just trying to be polite ... Anyone brave enough to try it?

I can't try it yet because I'm still on induction, but I copied the recipe for later....it looks DELICIOUS!

Awwww, poor Sylvia's lonely recipe!

It looks good, but I fear chocolate with sugar in it... although I guess it's probably better than with sugar alcohols, but much higher "net" carb count!

Plus I'm too lazy! The only cake I've made so far (9 months LC!) has been the microwave one with similar ingredients, but no 30 mins wait, and I've only ever made that once!

I tried some of Karen's Kitchen lc cakes on here and they came out so well and were soooo yummmmy, before I realised I was making them once a week!! Needless to say I lost very little until I pulled myself together! I have put your recipe somewhere "safe" until my will power improves or when I know I'll have company to finish it off!!

Thanks for the feedback, it's reassuring to know that a few people have at least read - if not yet tried - my first ever low-carb cake recipe of which I, as someone with a long-standing baking phobia, am inordinately proud

Ah well, I guess I'll just have to bake one before the St James' Park picnic and force-feed participants in return for comments

Hi Sylvia,

Just poped in to say that l have made your cake Twice!

First time ( last Friday ) l made them in muffin cases, the mixture made 9 small cakes ( approx 1 desert spoon of mixture per case ), which worked out at around 5g each based on your figures. Tasted great only they didn't last .

The second batch ( Sunday ), l split the mixture into 6 cases at approx 7.5g each and took the to work ( BIG mistake ).

Verdict from everyone was possitive, 1 lady did find it very rich and said she could only have managed half a muffin.

l reduced the cooking time in my oven to 20-25mins.

So thanks for a great recipe, off now to try some of Demi's recipes.

Steve

Hey, a convert and maybe a fellow Lancastrian ?

I appreciate the feedback, Steve, and am delighted that you liked the recipe enough to make it twice

I know from experience that Demi's recipes are superb, so you're in for a great time with them I can highly recommend the lemon drizzle cake one...

Talking

Hi,

Well, I only discovered this site recently. I can't express how happy I am that there are such a huge variety of recipes and ideas on here! If I see one more egg, I think I'll start clucking!

Anyway, I've printed this out now. My own attempts at chocolate stuff so far have ended up FAR too bitter for my tastes, but that's probably my fault for trying to use the 85% chocolate stuff...

I don't live alone, but I know exactly how you feel. Because my other half doesn't do Atkins, and tends to not like any of the low carb food that I eat, I also ending up throwing a lot.

I'll definitely let you know how I get on :-)
