Default Burger King SUCKS!

Hey Ya'll..
So, I went to BK today for lunch and when I went to order, I asked for a double Wopper with Cheese, no Ketup and no bun. The price on the menu was 2.99. The cashier charged me 4.99 BECAUSE I ORDERED IT LOW CARB. I asked why and she said I ordered a low carb platter.?. I told here that I want the same thing on the menu minus the bread and katup. Anyway, I was on my way to work so I did not have time to argue but I will never go back to BK...

wishing we had a Hardees closer to Atlanta.

I've gotten those comments before too.. now I just order the dang thing without ketchup and mustard and take the bun of myself. I'm guessing they try to charge more for the *platter* packaging?? What a rip.

That totally sucks! But I must admit I'm not surprised, the plastic package does cost more than a bun and paper (carbs and trees are cheap in this country). Thanks for the heads up, you spared me an ugly incident. Looks like I am going back to tossing the bun - lucky pigeons.

Plus, I know that there is no way that that plastic tray costs 2 bucks! I'm willing to pay cost, but a buck profit for having it "my way" is just a bit too greedy.

Strange. I wonder if the prices are determined by the corporate headquarters or each franchise. I was at a BK in Fort Payne AL on Wed nite (on a school field trip to Atlanta; bus stopped there so I had no choice) and they had a "low carb" menu for the same price as the bunned burgers. I got a double whopper without cheese for $2.29. Granted it was standard fast food crappy taste, but I had to eat something, it didn't cost extra and I didn't have to scrape the bun remnants off the meat. They served it in a plastic tray with the meat on the bottom, then the lettuce and tomato. They advertised it as without bun, ketchup or mayo, but didn't offer any other type of dressing to "wet" the lettuce. Pretty bland in my opinion.

At least they didn't ask me if I wanted fries with that.

The prices are higher at my BK, but I haven't tried ordering yet like GrooveJock so maybe they wouldn't stiff me. It might vary franchise to franchise or area to area depending on how much the custoers scream/expect. I remember that someone on this forum runs a Starbuck's franchise and that he cn pick what kind of goodies they sell. So there may be flexibility at BKs too.

I love when they ask me if I want fries when I order the low carb burger. I always make a show of pondering it carefully and then say "Oh, yeah, that's right. I'm eating low carb! No fries please." I know it's kind of jerky, but I say it politely at least, hoping that eventually the store will stop demanding that their employees offer fries. And then, optimistically, will have some lc side to offer instead. yes, I am a dreamer.

I went through the drive-thru last sat morning to get a breakfast bowl. It took so long to get...they must have been really confused because when i got home and seen they had put it all on lettuce, tomato, onions -the same as their lc bowls. No wonder it took so long they had to make a salad to put my breakfast on. Does anyone eat salad with scrambled eggs and sausage?? We lc's must!!!!

BK is the best in my opinion....I wish there were more low carb menus at ff places.

I think the owner of that BK up'ed the price on you...I have been going to BK for weeks because it's the only place..(fast food) that I can go in quickly order from lc menu without explaining no bun etc...The prices vary from BK to BK...not THAT much tho...unless I go to the shopping mall and theirs is almost $1 more...rip-off.

As far as pricing, yesterday I noticed a price change. Their Whopper went from 99c to 1.19 (low carb single burger)...which isnt bad at all..

I wouldn't go back to THAT BK either!...

The LC Platter on the BK menu board is EXACTLY the same price as the other stuff on the menu, minus the bun here in Minnesota. I think it is great and I enjoy it..

But, they always ask if I want a LC Platter combo, I ask what that is, and that includes fries and beverage, I thought that was a HOOT!!!!!!

I'm a mcdonalds fiend.....hmmmm....an order of chicken mcnuggets only has 10 g. carbs. and the cheeseburger with all the condiments, no bun, has 7 g. I know, I know, I'm going to be crucified about the Transfatties, but I've always been a sucker for some mc-d's!
They charge extra at McDonalds for the cheeseburger without the bun too, but only like 30 cents or something. I'm not a big BK fan, but if I go, I get the BK Broiler and just pull the bun off myself. IMHO that's the best thing on their menu and always has been.
