Default grocery list - and some questions about beans, etc.

bacon
eggs
sugar free jello pudding(has a few carbs but mixed with cream cheese makes an awesome flavored cheesecake)
cashews
broccoli
cheese (all kinds- pepper jack is good for a spicy snack)
new LOWCARB (not sugar free) ice creams (add to diet soda for a float)
squash
unbreaded okra (bread with the atkins baking mix - 0 carbs - and deep fry )
cabbage
saur kraut
weiners
canned corned beef (good with the cabbage)
low carb whole wheat tortillas for wraps

I notice nobody mentions dried beans on their shopping lists. My South Beach Diet book says I can have them but I'm afraid to try. They have a high carb count but they also have a lot of fiber. Can anyone advise??? Also where do you purchase the almond flour??

It looks to me like you are trying to mix diets. I don't think the bacon is allowed on SBD. Plus all your cheeses would have to be fat-free or lowfat on SBD. I could be wrong though. You should check out the SBD boards. They have a list on what is legal etc. I do know that they allow beans in phase 1 in the amount of 1/3 to 1/2 cup servings.

You should be able to buy almond flour at a health food store, but it's quite expensive (about $8 for 16 oz).

You can, however, make your own. It's just ground up almonds. You can use a blender if you don't have a food processor. If you still don't feel that the flour is fine enough.....sift the flour you made and re-blend the larger chunks. YOu can get almonds for a great price at any wholesale club in the bakery area.
