Default Stall on Induction???

Is it possible to stall in induction??

I have been keeping track of all my intake in my paper journal and also on FitDay regularly
http://fitday.com/WebFit/PublicJour...=Connie+Spindel
with updates to my journal here too...

All in all I lost 6 lbs in the first week and then NOTHING! I have lost a few inches, and feel great... but NO pounds in the last 10 days!

IS THIS NORMAL???

I know there may be some reasons...
It is 'that TOM'
I did have 2 glasses of wine 4 days ago
I have eaten some of the bars and shakes (also had shake/bars at first when I was losing weight)
I do drink coffee... have all along, but add in the carbs to my daily carb total (avg 18 net a day)....

So maybe one or all of these things are the reason for this stall. Also I am in the mid stages of menopause which of course can also contribute to the mess

I am and have stayed in keto at all times, have increased my excercise considerably... Any ideas??? Will the weight loss start up again??

All suggestions welcome

Sounds like you may have already pinpointed the problem in your list of reasons.

Plus 6 pounds in the first week is amazing! So dont' get too stressed over it, keep up the LOE and I am sure your weight loss with continue to happen.

Hi Gardengal. I can so relate to what you are saying. I am 22 days into induction and lost 5 lbs in first week then nothing for 2 weeks then 2 lbs.
From what I have learned in here and I believe to be true, it will come. I am losing some inches as well now .
If you truly followed induction to its strict list of foods you may see a difference.
No bars are allowed on induction. And alcohol will burn before fat. No alcohol allowed on induction.Even if you follow it to the tee however you still may be slow. Just be patient . Losing inches and feeling energized if far better than where I was 4 weeks ago so I'll take it. Welcome to the forum.

Thanks for your quick responces!
I'll hang in there and try to be good
The wine was a BIG no no I know, but Sis drove down from WA and brought it along (specially made for her by a local vintner) and will admit it was GOOD!
The bars and shakes I will try to stay away from, but was understanding the reason they were not for induction was mainly to discourage you from eating 'junk' foods rather than 'good' foods... I have always eaten 'Power Bars and Protien Shakes as a normal part of my diet (since the late 80's) and don't equate them the same as candy/junk... Maybe there are other reasons besides just the change of eating habits to stay away from them???
I'll keep up with it all and hope things will start progressing again... I admit, this is the first time in my life I have ever been on a diet, so all of this is new to me.... My weight gain was mainly due to health reasons (skin cancer, so almost no outdoor time/activities at all over the last 3+ years). I've moved where the UV index is greatly reduced (UV1 vs UV9 in Las Vegas) and so have been able to once again enjoy the out of doors (with spf 50 sunscreen of course!). Outdoor activities and a better diet I believe should bring down my weight and keep it down... At least I'm sure hoping so!
Again, thanks for responding and also the welcome to the forum

I am having the same problem. I lost 10 lbs the first week and now it's been about 4 days since I have seen any weight come off. I have not cheated and I am still on induction. I don't understand. I'm still gonna do it though and I will not quit!
We can help each other !

GO !!!!!!! GO !!!!!!! GO !!!!!!!!!!!!!! You can do it !

Panic attack diverted! This morning I was down another 2 lbs! I feel so much better knowing the WOE is still working
I think the biggest contributor to the problem was my monthly cycle (not exactly monthy now... either it's every two weeks or not for 2-3 months!)... Anyway, looks like things are back on track!

Bevbme- Yes, I do enjoy a romp in the rain! You can't imagine how many times I dreamed of rain while living in Las Vegas! When we were graced with a raindrop or two (maybe 3-4 times a year), it was cause for celebration and hurried phonecalls to family and friends..."Is it raining at your house??? It is here!" I'll tell you, people in the desert really ARE starved for rain! I almost feel guilty having so much moisture and the sweet rainwashed fragrance in the air!

Milky Soap- OK, you and me... we're gonna do it together! Wow! 10 lbs in the 1st week! Now that's what I call success!!! Did you take measurements when you started??? I'm really glad I did... Knowing that my inches were dropping during those 10 days even with no weight loss is what kept me going! I wasn't too sure about the 1 1/2" loss I measured around my bellybutton (includes the 'love handles'), but now I know it's true! I tried on a pair of jeans I couldn't get on a few weeks ago and had 'em on and zipped! Will admit, they were still too tight to be comfortable, but at least I was able to put them on! Maybe in a few more weeks they WILL fit right! So from here on out you have a LC Buddy in me if you want me

Default hi gardengal

Thanks for your reply. I'd love to have you as a lc companion ! congradulations on your inches lost !
Your profile is very interesting. Too bad you don't live closer I'd love to talk to you. I love history and geneology. When I get time (which is not often), A good friend of mine and I go ghost hunting. Most of the time I do it alone in not so scary places ! ( I'm a chicken at times ! ). Anyway, before we go on hunts we try to research the past AND HISTORY OF THE PLACE we're going.
But I do love old things ! Sorry to ramble anyway lets get our weight loss on !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its natural to slow down on the second week I know I did but then I picked up for the 3 week again as the atkins diet is not a quick fix it just takes time to adjust to the new way of eating

Best of Luck

My second week was slower, and then on week 3 adn 4 the inches started falling off...but time of the month I retain water pretty badly which makes me feel like a big ol' cow, good news is that it goes away after a few days ....give yourself some more time..

Hang in there you are doing marvelously. I am in that wonderful "change of life" just like you are. I can assure you that all of us on the forum in that stage have real roller coaster weight losses and frequent stalls. With the hormonal changes, it can be tough. The good news is that in the long run the weight WILL come off and reducing fat levels in our bodies is helpful for menopausal issues. Welcome! Orchid

Thanks to all of you for your words of encouragement! Checked this AM again to see if the 2 lbs were REALLY gone... Yep! still gone! Happy to say I'm back on the losing track! Have been reading on the lists this morning about leg cramps... Seems I have aquired this 'new' problem the last few days... I knew I needed to get some calcium tablets (per my FitDay report) the next time I went to the store... but looks like I had better get them without too much delay! Had a cramp so BAD while driving and had to pull off the road! I'm telling you, it was the worst I've ever experianced! Other than that feeling good and a little bit lighter!
Thanks again for all your support!
Oh yes... one more question...

Can someone take a look at the nutritional info I have posted in my journal (from FitDay) and let me know if I am ok as far as my vitamins and all... Seems to me I might be a bit high on some of them and know that with some vitamins and minerals it is not all that good to be in excess....

Thanks for the replies ! I'm glad to hear that the 3rd and 4th week pick up and that it's normal. I was a bit worried thinking that my body would shut down doing atkins and I'd stop losing. Wheww !!!! That was scary. Now I can't wait to see what happens next week.
