Post Grocery Store Addiction

Does anyone else on this woe have this problem? I swear as soon as I find a new recipe for LC, I run (not walk) to the store. I even shop at multiple stores to get different ingredients (still lookin for that spaghetti squash!) I have "bonded" with the meat man, and the store manager actually introduced himself on my last shopping trip. I even asked the seafood guy not to tell my husband I was in yesterday! HAHAHA! I really am excited by all the great "finds" in the stores now, with all of the new LC choices. It is soooo hard to stay away!

On a good note, think about all the walking inside all the different stores you go to

At least you are paying attention to what you eat and making well-informed decisions now, instead of walking around throwing items that look like they might be tasty into your cart....I mean, tasty is good, but food shouldn't be eaten for that reason only, I'm sure you know what I mean, etc...

I do the same. I shop almost daily for fresh ingrediants and healthy, low carb foods.

New recipes excite me as well

I'm jealous.

Since our only grocery store in town closed it's doors, I have to drive 20 miles for groceries...kind of cuts WAY down on trips for just a couple of items!

This time of year, keeping lettuce on hand is a challenge...I hate iceburg, and the store I drive to tries to keep at least some romaine on hand, but the leaf lettuce has to wait until I go to the "big" town, an hour's drive away.... I'm actually considering trying to grow it indoors..LOL.

Well, I'm a little weird in my own way. I've been running around town to visit stores other than my regular one just to see if they happen to carry any different kinds of LC products. My dh thinks I'm insane when I yell "stop!" when we're in a different part of town and I see a new store I haven't checked out yet. Hope springs eternal for other flavors of Diet Rite that I know are out there, LOL!

I'm about as bad. I've really cut back, but I used to spend way way to much on groceries and online shopping. I found most of the LC specialty food I rarely use, and the bulk things last a while. (Kind of like how you would only buy flour or sugar once a blue moon before.)

I do have specific things I get from different grocery stores staple wise. Unfortunetly some of the better things are an hours drive away, so they are treats I do end up buying produce almost daily though and our freezer is packed. My SO's dad is going ot give us a deer though, so that should help with the grocery bill

I know what you guys mean! I love the market. Potato, I have found that the prepackaged Romaine hearts will keep much much longer than single heads of lettuce.

Default I go a few times a week also

to stock up on more veggies. There are some things I also drive 15 minutes out of my way to get at our only Trader Joes'.

Depending on the electrical rates where you live, lettuce can be grown indoors under those lamps. I've grown roses that way, they need more light than lettuce does, which needs cooler temperatures anyway.
Food tastes so much better now! I love trying new recipes, and am actually becoming a cook because of it. (My darling hubby, bless him, would always try something I cooked. He's a brave man.) But last night I made chicken breasts with parmesan cheese and he raved about them.
I remember I used to say to myself, "Okay, what now?" because nothing really appealed to me yet I was so hungry. Now I find the food tastes fantastic, and yet I am satisfied with less. Satiation is the key, I guess.
All because I turned my way of eating upside down and inside out!

Smile Oh, yeah

I'm making really tasty food, too. I'm buying lots of new things, but not much in the way of prepackaged lc products or anything. New veggies and such.

I'm looking into local farms for veggies, eggs, and hopefully meat. Possibly I need a chest freezer!
