Default ok i am depressed I admit it

Day 4 into 2nd week and no apparent weight loss - the thrill I felt about meeting my friend who had thought I had lost weight after ooooooh 8 days.... she hadnt seen me........ is marred by the fact my clothes dont feel loser (and didnt when she asked by teh way) , blah blah blah......I know this diet works cos I met her friends the next day who had lost mega weight..... ok they are I suppose about four stone over my weight - I want to lose about 2and a half stone...... but I have none of this 7 or more pound weight loss...... my face might be thinner ( I dont see it) or mebe I was just on a high feeling happy I had got thro a week (not that it was hard but with all the hype I hoped to see some loss)...

Silly thing is it#s the hype that depresses me.... I might not have sooooooo much to lose but believe me it's enuff... with a normal diet I would not have expected results but with Atkins somehow I did... it may be that my period is due in about four days and I do hae a tendency to put on water weight..... but have been religious about this diet = even about drinking the water....... and I still go to the gym - mind you I did only go 2 times - high impact aerobics as per usual so no slacking but........ ooooooooooh every one boast like 7lbs.......i cant.. i cant boast anything..... I saw the post about from someone who said she had been on it for 7 weeks and lost 2 lbs or so,,,,,,,, orrrrrrrrrrrrrrr noooo I will lose belief if that happens to me
cheer me up please

Your period could definitely influence your weight loss. I always retain water to the point of several extra pounds. It goes away when I finish my TOM. It is depressing, even when you know that is what is causing it. I stay away from the scale during that time. Hang in there and the pounds will come off!

I would wait the two weeks before getting worried. TOM does add water weight.

If you want to post some meals maybe we can help????

Throw your scale in the closet and, at the most, pull it out once a week (same day, same time). You will lose the weight you want to lose. It isn't going to ever be fast enough to suit you, but it will happen if you just keep eating according to plan. As long as you know that, you'll be okay.

Schops, I can for sure tell you that it very way may be your period. Last week I was mega depressed because I hadn't lost any weight in about 5 days in fact I gained a pound and I never cheated! Anyways I started last Thurs. and now I have actually lost 5 pounds in like 3 days. So just sit back and wait for your period I bet that is what is is.

Schops,

I have been on this diet for over 4 weeks now and I have been going up & down just a couple pounds and now I'm back to the weight I started with. I've been eating everything I'm supposed to. I'm NOT cheating at all. The only thing is... that I don't excersize much. But I have so many family and friends that told me they didn't either when they lost all their weight! I'm so fed up! I'm begining to think that this diet only works for certain people. I was so excited to start this and now I'm just upset. I'ts been only 2 weeks for you... so I would say give it another couple weeks and see what happens. For me... I think I'm done with this... I don't see how after 4 weeks it can still happen for me.

Good Luck!

Kiki

KIKI,
maybe you could post your menu for the last few days and a forum moderator can help you,,,maybe you are overlooking something,,,,,,,, dont give up yet,,,, do you want to be unfit, over weight for another 12 months when instead you could look back and say thank goodness I didnt give up????

Look for all of us the weight never comes off quick enough,, but I must say stop dweling on what you others have done and concentrate on what ONLY YOU can do for yourself......... like the saying,,,

what miracle are you waiting for? Instead just be the miracle yourself............. I too have a long way to go to my ideal weight,,,, and its not in being patience and will power.... its in how much you really WANT it......

As for the exercise! What you can not put on your favourite cd and dance up a storm???? I know I do......

Sorry to be so blunt but this site is for support/tips/ideas/recipes we can not do it all for you......HOW MUCH DO YOU REALLY WANT IT?
Sorry if you think I am rude,,,, usually I am not,,,, maybe just thought some constructive critisim will boost you into the ``I can do it for myself stage``........

anyway I have a journal if you wanna pop there and bash me up,,, lord knows i probably need it!!

Hi Kiki, I'm sorry to see you are so frustrated. Please take Jordy's advice and post some of your regular menus - I'm sure someone here will be able to help.

As for your Crohn's disease, have a look at this former thread: http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthre...ohns#post406122

All the best to you.

Hi Guys,
I know how you feel, the first week I lost 3 pounds, and for some reason the second week I gained back the 3 pounds plus one more, now can you imagine how my face was when I saw the scale..I notice though i feel bloated from drinking so much water, and I notice too that my clothes are tighter, so I dont know what to do at this point.

Hi Tiana, welcome!

Once again, how about posting some of your regular menus? I'm sure someone will be able to suggest something.

Tiana.....
you want to get down to 101 pounds? I am only concerned that thats a bit low? i mean am I wrong or is that 45 kilo? (us aussies work in kilos, lol)
If I am correct you are now at your perfect weight for your height,,, maybe just working out more to tone up would be a good idea if you are concerned.. .but as for loosing more weight I can not tell you not to do so,, but being under weight is very damaging to your health ........... as far as I know for your height 45 kilo (101 pounds) is way to low,,might be setting your goal too high (or too low for that matter)........ is not whats on the outside that counts but whats on the inside!
Am I wrong here guys?

Is it fashion today that makes us want to be underweight,,, look at some of the celebrities,,, has anyone seen Laura Flynn Boyle recently?,,,she weighs a staggering 45 kilo now ( thats like 100 pound) and she looks like a bag of bones! If thats what it takes for people to say you look great in the latest fashions,,,,,,,,,,,,,, then NO THANK YOU......... I am fine just the way I am. I wanna loose weight for health reasons, feel better ,, healthier ,, but as for vanity and being shallow.... I AM OUT!
Anyone else care to comment??

I know this makes me seem like a harsh and uncaring person but I swear that I am not,,,its my concern that has made me reply....
All the best
Jordy

Hi Jordy,

If you have a look at Tiana's profile, you'll see she is a petite 4'11, and so 101 pounds is still a healthy weight for her.
