Default back from holidays

Hi everyone!

I just got home from a three and a half week holiday. I took off from way up here in the tundra and hit the city for a while! It was great to see my family and some friends, but of course busy and crazy at the same time. I tried my best to stick to my WOE while on the road, driving over 5000 kms, visiting several homes and in and out of hotel rooms. I didn't lose anything, but didn't gain either so I consider that it itself a great success. I never really felt deprived, but did find it a bit hard a times to eat on the run. It occasionally took a little too much preplanning to avoid the inevitable monotany of fast food, low carb version...

Anyway, just glad to be home and able to check in with every one here again. Hope all is well, going to start piling through the threads I missed.

Mari

PS, my first log in on this site and I saw the whoosh fairy, now I KNOW that has to be a sign of good things to come!!!!

Default the little guy did fine....etc...

Thanks Karen and Doreen and Wa'il, for you welcome backs...

Yes, Doreen, little guy did ok. Surprises me every time we go somewhere because way up here we don't have a vehicle (no where to drive to!) so other than the ski doo in the winter, we are on foot or he's in a stroller or sled. Yet on the few trips we have taken (which are inevitably long and involve days full of hours and hours of driving) he has been remarkably accepting of his confinement in a car seat. He is getting to be a handful on the plane ride out of here though... a bit to wiggly for an hour and a half on my lap

As a funny aside, my husband brought his 5 year old neice on this trip who has never been away from this little community in her whole life. No kidding, never set a foot in McDonalds, never seen pavement, never seen a hotel (she still thinks the sheridan is my house and I have the biggest pool right in the middle of my living room...). WOW, that was an exciting trip, but it went well.

Thanks again,
Mari

Hi otenn

Didn't know you before but I'm glad U R back. You bring fresh vitality and humour to the site. It is really good - maintaining on a holiday. I had visitors for a few days and fell off the wagon with the left-overs! Well Done.

I love that Whoosh Fairy too. Gives me a good feeling of being protected ! I WISD SHE WAS ON ALL THE FORUMS (hint hint!). I tend to go straight to the Daily lo-carb section but sometimes go specifically looking for her ! Not much different from your 5 yr old nephew . Thanks for sharing that btw. Seeing the world through children's eyes is always awsome. I wouldn't mind having a pool in the middle of my living room right now - it so hot here.

Feel motivated to get myself back on track now.
Take care.
