Default Busy this weekend with cake decorating

Hey fellow low carbers. This weekend was busy for me with making a wedding cake to feed 350 people. The REALLY good news is that I ate no cake trimmings from any of it. I have a next door neighbor who diets constantly but has one "cheat day" every 14 days so the day I did the white cake, she was happy to take the "scraps". Another friend from church adores chocolate, so I phoned him to pick up the chocolate cake scraps or they were garbage disposer bound. He promptly came and picked them up. LOL! You know, even throughout this diet I have made many cakes and when I've gone so far as to put the cake trimming bite into my mouth, I think to myself, it doesn't taste good enough to blow my diet so I spit it out before I swallow.
Now the REALLY exciting news. I went shopping and bought some new casual clothes which were FOUR sizes smaller than I've been wearing. That wonderful reality sent me to the basement where I tried on some of the clothes I'd outgrown and they fit so I brought them upstairs to my closet. I still have quite a ways to go, and at first the weight seemed SO slow to come off but I hung in there. So please be encouraged. Enjoy the delicous
satisfying food allowed on this wonderful diet. By the way, my hubby (pre-diet) had just begun to have mild hypertension, 140/90 but since low carbing , the other day Thursday he showed me a slip of paper with the reading 100/64. WOW!!!!!

Hey Loosinlady you are my hero.
I haven't baked or even thought about it since I began this
journey. Actually I have thought about it but I shove the idea
to the back of my mind where I keep things like my chequebook
balance and the fact that I didn't work out yesterday. I'll never
find those thoughts back there .
Kudos to you and your hubby. I think the best thing for me
during all of this is the smile on my doctor's face when she sees
my continuinually improving blood values. Blood pressure-down.
Blood sugar-down. Cholesterol-down. Add to that that I am
watching my belly actually deflate before my eyes .
Sorry about the gross visual. Isn't it just the best when you
can get into smaller sizes-especially ones you've packed away?
I can't believe how great this forum is. Meeting people like you
and the others has giiven me such a boost I think I could leap
over one of your wedding cakes in a single bound

Loosinlady, I'm a nibbler and bowl-licker too when I cook, and if it's something I can't eat (like some high-carb cookies I made for my wedding), I'll either chew sugar-free gum or wear those Crest tooth-whitening strips. It keeps me from absent-mindedly popping a spoonfull of something or other in my mouth, then having to spit it right back out!

Good job on the willpower and on the clothes...

Hey Loos , you are doing do well! Amazing that you can decorate a cake and not nibble. Congratulations on the clothes too. Biggest for helping your DH lower his blood pressure, that's awesome.

I do cake decorating as a hobby and I have to say since this WOE I have avoided making cakes. It is so hard not to lick the frosting bowl, esp when I am making chocolate frosting!
