Nope, I don't think so.

At least you can count on me & Divina...& Dan (Divina & I will personally drag Dan's butt to this get-together if he even thinks of backing out!!! LOL).

Hi Everyone-

I have a question for all of you. I just found out today that I have to be at an event in PA on 7/10. Since we are still in the planning stages and havent reserved the space yet, would anyone have a problem with 7/17 instead? Or the Sunday 7/11? I understand if we can't move it, but I figured I would ask anyway.

Thanks,
Michelle

Hey kids...If its 7/17, I'm most likely in (however, 7/10 i'm in Florida).

A born New Yorker, I might be able to make some suggestions, re: Central Park, and perhaps an alternative or two:

Riverside Park (West Side, but right near the Hudson River...Less crowded and a shot at a breeze in July)

also...

Battery Park City (in Manhattan, just near the southern tip of Manhattan). Great views of the Statue of Liberty, Ground Zero, Wall Street, grassy places to hang out (not sure about any BBQs though), almost always a breeze, down the road from Chelsea Piers (Ice Skating, Bowling, Golf Driving Range) and right near Churrascaria Plataforma.

Thanks to Fern for pointing me in the direction of this thread (thanks Fern, hugs!!)

I'll subscribe to the thread, so I can keep tabs on what others are posting. Great Idea!

Sunday is probably fine with me - I don't think I have anything on for that weekend.

As far as location, I would prefer not to have it in Battery Park.

BIG brings up the idea of Churrascaria Plataforma again - whatever happened to that idea? I still really like it as an option. Not to stir things up too much, but what do others think? It would alleviate some of the food issues.

I am ok with what the group decides but I am kind of leaning toward the following Saturday the 17th. Big would be able to make it and it is much easier for me to make it up there on a Saturday than a Sunday.

I may be in the middle of a cross country move (hopefully) on the 17th (though not positive yet and I would have the whole month to move) so I picked the 10th or 11th since I know I will be around that weekend.

I love the idea! I live in New York so I can probably make this event. Btw, there are now 2 churrascaria plataformas, one near Times Square, and another one in Tribeca. The tribeca neighborhood is a lot less crowed and touristy, near SOHO and the village, also close to Ground Zero if you interested in that.

There are also several other fine steakhouses around here, Dylan Prime, Mark Joseph, Delmonico's and more...

one more thought, there is a steak house in Brooklyn that's been there forever, and it always makes the top of the top ten lists of steakhouses, it's called Peter Luger's.

(haven't had a chance yet to read much of this thread, so sorry if I'm repeating something you've been over already...)

As far as I can tell, from rereading the thread, the general consensus appeared to confirm Churrascaria Plataforma/bowling as the weather dependant 'indoor activity'.

Can anyone who's been to Churrascaria Plataforma give me any idea as to how much it will cost for lunch? Also, it's been a while since I've bowled, how much does that generally run?

After the 31st when the poll closes, I will start getting agressive with the planning again...
