Still moving down, slowly but surely.

Congrats MommyP! Two pound weeks are always inspiring.

Didn't lose this week. I've actually weighed myself 3 times over the course of the week (which I have to stop - it just freaks me out) I've been going up one day, down the next, and feel a bit bloated. I'm adding some carbs gradually right now and I think my digestion is having trouble trying to adjust. Anyone else finding that moving on to another phase a bit hard?
Never thought I'd say this, but induction felt easier, more guidlines and less fear

Several years ago I was around 175-178 lbs. I low carbed, dropped down to 130-135, now I'm back up to 153! I know what I need to do but I can't seem to last more than a week. I need some motivation. My BF is no help, he's 6'1" and weighs 286. He talks about wanting to lose weight but doesn't seem to want to try. I've been eating crap and it's catching up with me. The jeans I wore this time last year won't go over my thighs. I was so motivated and good about saying no to eating things I shouldn't. What now? I can't seem to get there now. Any ideas for motivation? Any advice would be helpful. I went through a phase where I liked beer...lol. I think that has something to do with it. I like a glass of wine every now and then but never drank beer very much til the last year. I really need some words of advice...

You can join this group. Having to post your weight once a week really helps with motivation and accountability.

You need to get through at least two weeks on induction. This will get you into ketosis and more importantly it will get your carb cravings under control. Once you get the cravings under control it will become much easier-you won't need as much willpower as you do now. You might even decide to stay on induction much longer. Just remember-the more carbs you eat, the more your cravings will increase.

Take it one day at a time. And planning what you will eat will go a long way in keeping you on track.

Also-try to get rid of the bad carbs in your house if you can. For instance: Take your beer out of the fridge and put it in the back of a closet for now.

I go up and down the scale all week as well. I think that is normal.

Climbing the carb ladder can be difficult. And many people, including myself, have fallen off. That is why I have decided that staying with induction levels is best for me. I could not keep up with the carb counting and it was driving me crazy-induction is definitely easier for me.

I have faith you will eventually find what is best for you-you have done wonderfully so far.

Default I'm back!

Hi all,
I'm back at home now. I was up to 158 right after surgery, but am back down to 151 now after being home a couple days. I feel pretty good, won't be running any marathons anytime soon.

I didn't really worry about what I ate over the last few days since other people were cooking and it was pretty hard to do, but I didn't do too bad. Now that I am feeling pretty good and going to be doing most of the cooking again, I'll be able to get back at it.

Good to be be back, thanks for your prayers and well wishes. Everything went good.

Well I had too much wine at a Christmas party last night and I awoke the carb monster. I fell face first into a plate of Christmas cookies and don't think I let up until about 6 cookies later. I should have known I couldn't stop with just one. Who knows how many carbs I had.

I will just look at it as learning experience of the dangers of alcohol and sweets nearby. I won't be cutting loose with the wine again at any more Christmas parties this year! That was it for me.

I have totally lost my appetite in the last couple days. Nothing sounds good. I suppose this isnt' a bad thing, but I do need to eat.
