Hello. I joined this forum in hopes of finding some advice. While out of the country for a family funeral, I was speaking to my aunt about my ongoing GI problems and frustrations. Over the past two years, I have been to the doctor several times, done all kinds of lab work and everything would come back normal. Over these last 2 years, I have also gained 15-20 lbs and lost 0 despite doing 1 hour of cardio per day 5 days per week. Every time I ate, I would become immediately bloated, regardless of the meal. Had constant stomach pains, always feel tired and feel like I may be starting to become depressed. My periods have also gotten worse over the past few years. Extremely heavy and painful, and sometimes I am not even able to get out of bed.
She then mentioned that her daughter had the same problem, but found great resolve using the Glucophage. She suggested I try it and gave me some. Now, I know what everyone is thinking, why would I take it unless prescribed by a doctor? Well, I figured, with her being a chemist, and since I had already been to plenty of doctors with no resolve, why not give it a try.
I just started taking 450mg twice daily. Once with breakfast and the other with lunch. Almost immediately I could feel the difference. For the first time in years, I was able to have a meal, and not look immediately like I was 8 months pregnant. I also did not experience any stomach pains as I usually would after meals. I also don't feel as sluggish as I normally had been.
I'm not sure this will work or not, but as of now, it's been a blessing. If weightloss comes with it, it will be an added bonus, but as of now, I'm glad I've been able to eat again without feeling sick to my stomach. I have scheduled an appointment with yet another doctor to let him know what I'm taking, to see what his opinion is.
I'm curious to know if anyone else has had a similar experience? Any advice will be appreciated.
