hi- on the beginning of my 3rd week of SB . Not really seeing big results on the scale like most people but I'm feeling better in my skin.I've dropped 2 or 3lbs. Should I stick to another week of Phase I or move on to Phase II? Any theories why I'm not dropping lbs?

rozimom,
If you would post some menus of what you've been eating, we may be able to give you some feedback. At your current weight though, you won't be seeing big losses as you are close to your goal.

So lets see what you've been eating with quatities if you can.

You may want to start a journal here so that you can have a place to log your food each day as it does help to keep track of what you are eating by writing it down....that way we can really help you!!

Wow, this thread exploded since I posted at 4:30 yesterday! I wanna give a big thanks to Judy (and all the well-seasoned pro's) for her advice and guidance. I wouldn't have even realized I was making a few mistakes if it weren't for her. Like I said in her journal, sometimes you can look at the approved food list 100 times and still miss over something... Or I just read too fast.

Anyhoo - no weight loss yet for me, but I had an extremely strenuous weight workout Sunday night and I'm still sore as heck from it, so my assumption is that I'm holding onto water in my muscles because otherwise I feel great! Since I have another weight workout planned for tonight, who knows what tomorrow will hold.....

If anyone wants to grab the picture I made for this thread, then just right click on it, and copy the link, then go to your siggy and insert picture, and paste the link in there, it should then show up in your siggy line. I made it small so that it would fit in with peoples other stuff. To link the thread into the picture you have to click on the insert link button and then copy the address of this thread in there.

If anyone can host the original picture on a personal site or anything that would be good because it is coming up with the LC forum yellow thingumy on it.

Hi schelle, I would personally not go for the cream. South Beach is much more low fat that Atkins, and they recommend no fat yogurt and milk etc. Although you can still have things like olive oil etc. I would say it's a no no on the cream, but why not swap for low fat milk?

Ok I have a couple of questions to Judy or whoever else might know.
Today I have had a REALLY hungry day. I have been snacking all day on things like eggs/cooked meats/veggies. Is it normal to be this hungry at first? I think my body might be missing the fat....obviously I'll get use to it, but for now, are there things which are better to have to nibble on?

Also, can I have olives?? I can't see them on an of the charts (Unless i'm missin them) and I LOVE olives.....PLEASE don't say I can't have them at least in moderation??

Olives are considered a fat source and are allowed on phase I.

Other Fat Choices:
Avocado - 1/3 whole = 1 TBS oil

Make sure that your meals are filling you completely and that you eat enough veggies and protein. Snacks are required but be careful of just eating all the time!! That is compulsive eating and thats why we are trying to get away from.

Go for a walk!! Get out of the house!! Do somethig to distract yur mind!!

This is my thought on olives. I treat them as pickles which are allowed on all phases. Just keep in mind they have a lot of salt which could make you retain water. I drink extra water when I eat salty things.

And about being hungry, when I first begain I was hungry and upped my protein amount each day. I ate a lot of chicken breast. I do remember around Christmas I just wanted to eat everything in the house and still felt hungry, so I made egg nog with real cream, egg stuff in the carton, and splenda. I think I just needed the fat to feel me up. Its only happened that once to me. I had about an 8 oz glass. Your body does need fat, just keep the amount within reason, and not everyday.
Hope this helps.
