Wow it has been a long time since I started this thread many a moon ago. I know most all the places others have lived on here... Altoona doesn't ring a bell- but know most the others- lived near Towanda, & in Wichita,Hays,Ellis, Russell- most of them small towns (except Wichita).(Also lived in Colorado-miss those gorgeous mtns.!!)

Last Aug. (2005) my family moved to Arkansas. Now take a raised on flat practically treeless in places- plains of Kansas gal and move her into the middle of a forest in a mountain valley- talk about feeling LOST! I never thought I would miss Kansas SO MUCH! Plus Hot Springs cost too much to live, and too much traffic, crime and the such. I feel like the one poster from D.C., give me boring over snipers and etc., any old day! We moved back after 5 months... talk about expensive moving! WOWZERS!

ANYHOW- I been away from the forum for a long while- and am back thanks to a gracious moderating team who decided to give me another chance. I am in the process of moving to a more affordable place- and once settled in, am gonna be starting living la vida low carb! Working on lowering them right now... I know I feel SO MUCH better when watching what I eat... now if I could just get the hubby to come along!

I know how old this is but I take every chance I can to talk up SEK. Born in Salina but raised in the Oswego/Hollowell area. If you have ever heard of Hollowell you are a real Kansan. I think the population is around 20.
I have lived around the world due to job (Asia, Europe, California, a half dozen other states - and now reside south of Atlanta) but still call SEK my real home. And truly there IS NOT PLACE LIKE HOME>.

Hi Makenzi

Whoa... I live in "East" Wichita near Town East, what part of Wichita do you live in?

Also several people from work are doing a exercise support group. Some days we will go to the NE YMCA together, other days we will exercise on our own and report our activities to the group. Are you interested in something like this?

Dee

MisterE

I would have not guest you to be a Small Town Kansan. How very cool. Do you ever make it back to the Sunflower state?

I thought I would also join in and say, I am in Kansas too, but pretty far away from all you Wichita/Topeka Kansans. I am in a small town close to Hays, Kansas.... Wish there was some people closer to me so I could have a work out buddy!

WOW, lots of Kansans.

I work with several people who live in Douglas. I work for SpiritAeroSystems. Douglas is not that far away. Get2Bslim do you come into Wichita?

Amanda, I can understand wanting a exercise partner. Do you have somewhere near you where you can exercise or do you have a home gym? Maybe I should ask what you do for exercise.

Dee
