Hey Marge
Re: exercise, I have a bit of a home gym (bike, ski machine & a bowflex) but I've been a bit of a slug lately and need to get back at it. It was nice to be in Vancouver this weekend. I was able to do lots of walking outside.

Hey Littlepigg-so many hotel stays-what are you flight crew?

Anyone bought anything off this website before?

I am looking here http://www9.netrition.com/cgi/prices.cgi?manu_id=89 and wondering if I want to or if it is worth it?

I've looked at it before but the shipping costs bump the price over what I would pay in the store. ($33.00 for shipping a box of advantage bars) and prices are in US dollars. It's good if you absoulutely need something that you can't get here but I would check if Diabetic Depot could order it in first before I would take this route.

Try making it through the day without the bars. That's the cheapest way to go. I have gone 21 days without any kind of substitute candy and find I'm losing the craving for snacks. If it gets really bad, I have a couple handfuls of popcorn or 20 almonds.

I just know if I don't change my eating habits, when I'm back to maintanence, I will fall back into the bad ways and put the weight right back on. I don't want to go there...

Hi!

I've been enjoyin' the Carb Correct from Safeway...it is very good. Today I also bought a loaf of Carb Conscious from Safeway. (It cost about 90 cents more) Yummmmmmmmmmy!

I had a grilled cheese with the multigrain and it was fantastic!

Just add a cup of chicken broth...and...we can meet this weather with ease!

Many Blessings!

Well - did you ask the right question!!

Okay -

  • Advantage bars - Costco & SuperStore, $2.00ea. Same box size, Costco has a chocolate lovers pack (I don't like all the flavors), SuperStore has individual bars, if you buy a box of 15 you get them for $2.00 each, and you can pick your flavors!!!

Endulge - Costco - Cheapest by far

Bread - Costco now sells low carb bread, 2 for $5.49, most places (grocery stores) are close to that for just one loaf!!!

Bake Mix - In Calgary the Lake View Bakery sells a low carb bake mix, 10lbs for $25.00 - or you can buy smaller quantities of it.

Misc. - Costco now sells a GenSoy Low Carb Bar, 2.5gram of carb, it is great!!! Costco has tortilla chips, ($$ it thought, but at least I can eat them), Buns, bagels, wraps are in Calgary at the Diabetic Depot, and the Lake View Bakery (they also have hot cross buns there too, and pizza shells), GNC for sugar free and low carb products & drink shakes.

Vitamins - GNC seems to carry the closest thing to Atkins vitamins. Buy the gold card from them to get the discount. I was told the quality of vitamins was better from them (over costco, etc) They also have a huge selection of low carb products!!

Well - I hope that keeps you going for a while!!

Unhappy I Need your Help

OK, here is what is happneing.

I have been doing this for 4 weeks as of yesterday.

Week 1 I lost 9 pounds
Week 2 I lost 4 pounds
Week 3 I lost none and gained none
Week 4 I lost none and gained none

I have not changed what I am eating, I am doing all the same things I did during the first two weeks. What is a guy to do to get the ball rolling again?

From experience I would say go back to induction only foods. You could probably even have a few extra carbs but get them from veggies. Cut out any "franken foods" like the bars.
Other than that, are you keeping your calories up? Make sure your body doesn't think you are starving it.
Do you use fitday?
