FrecklFluf, we drive through Parsons on our way to Table Rock. Longest town we have to go through. Not the biggest, just looooong time to drive through!
Fellow Kansan here.........
Well as you can see by my user name, I'm also from KS. Been LC'ing for alittle over 18 months. I'm from a small town about an hour North of Downtown KC, Atchison, KS. I too have been to the the health food store on 95th and I35 and now the newer one, the Low carb Superstore. Nice to Know there are others out there.........
...and Pittsburg State University alumni here! Gawd how I miss Kansas and Missouri -- heck Arkansas and Oklahoma too for that matter. I'm living in the D.C. area now which is sooooo horrible for a born and bred midwesterner like myself. If you try to explain about tornado watching/chasing to these people up here they literally refuse to believe you! Plus, they assume we midwesterners are backward and boring. I'll take backward and boring over snipers and terrorists any day!! They don't know what they are missing!
Keep up the good fight!! We are winning the battle of the bulge!!
Greeitngs Y'all from Wichita! I'm originally from Southern California, but moved here with my family in 1998. I love Kansas, except for the no mountains or beaches thing! Hope to hear back from some of you guys, this looked like a pretty old thread. I hope we can lose a bunch for the good old heartland!

Hi Brad K
I am From Ks. I live So. of Wichita,Ks. We have got wet cold weather here I think it has rained or a fine mist all week. I have retired so don't have to get out in the wet cold foggy mornings-drove to Wichita to work for 20 plus years.
I have been on the LC Diet for 1 mo. have lost-need to get serious about my weight-was eating meat-salads-not enough fat-all other diets that i have been on-no fat so this is something new so i have to get used to getting the fat up-then i will get on track and my weight go down..Nice seeing you on the LC j0urnals...Gal From Ks.
Although this thread is quite old, I thought I would add my hello from Kansas. Born and lived here since 1951. I live just west of Wichita. I can't say I love Kansas but there are some things about Kansas that I do love.
Wichita doesn't really have good places to buy low carb food items. Whole Foods and Food for Thought. They have fewer low carb items now than they did 1 year ago. I guess I need to make plans for a shopping trip to KC.
I have been LC'ing for just over 2 years. I love the way this woe makes me feel so I can't understand why I keep falling into the sugar trap ie. candy, fruit pie and pastry. Since my last restart though I really havn't had a craving for those things. I hope it stays that way.
