I've just read all nine pages on this thread, and would like to say thanks. The original Rev rolls were truly gross to me, but I can eat these things, tweak them however I like, and they're always good.

I've even used them to make "dumplings".

One quick question- has anyone spread that batter out in a pan and tried to make a "pita" type thing? Probably a much better question to ask in a recipe forum.

Better if you (a) let it sit awhile to blend, (b) put it on something warm/hot so it warms a bit, (c) you can put sliced boiled eggs and thin sliced sweet peppers on top and it's more awesome.

That reminds me of a "Killer Bread" recipe. Mix chopped fresh garlic with butter, some mayo, loads of Parmesan cheese, a little basil, salt & pepper. Spread on "bread" and broil. I've tried this on an Oopsie and it is terrific. Messy, but great.

To this particular variation, I'm curious as to whether splenda is added

Her initial rolls, are particularly wonderful

I think as mix-ins. I usually will carefully mix in the toppings to the yolk, or blend slightly after the yolk has been added to the whites.

I'm still working on evacuating enough of my kitchen to make anything, let alone something that requires stiff egg whites.

Tell me (and others reading who haven't tried them), are these:

light?
heavy?
spongey?
solid or airy?

do they rise at all? how much?

PJ

Well, my wife tried making these today while I was at work. I think we need to go back to the drawing board. Here's what we got.

Ours truly were oopsies...

I haven't actually tasted them yet. They will be waiting for me when I get home with some yummy egg salad with mushrooms type stuff to eat on them.

Yeah...those look like my first attempt too! The batter spread all over the place - edible none the less. And even better the next day!

Lowjax,

Looks like your egg whites were not stiff enough!
