Question Moon Cheese - Any other products like these?

I just found Moon Cheese...

Cheddar 1 carb, Gouda 0 carb, Pepper Jack 0 carb...

Love the Gouda have to buy and taste the others.

They crunch just like a cracker... Love these.

Anyone else have any other products like these?

I've just discovered Moon Cheese within the past week. It's great! I just wish it wasn't so expensive.

I also love to make my only dried cheese in the microwave.

Beef jerky, expensive but good. I buy or order it locally, no preservatives.

Moon Cheese, also known as Whisps are available in a larger and less expensive (still not cheap) bag at Costco.
They are also showing up in Walmart and other grocers, by brands that position them as a crouton replacement. WHisps at Costco are in the salad dressing/crouton aisle. TRader Joe's also has small bags of baked cheese, again, cheaper than Moon Cheese, not as cheap as WHisps.
If you have Trader Joe's there are seaweed snacks, parsnip chips, many new low carb or Paleo snacks showing up. http://forum.lowcarber.org/showthread.php?t=452984

Question Making your own?

I wonder if making cheese into balls and putting them in a dehydrator to make it like these?

It is quite easy to make your own cheese crisps (chips in USA) by laying small slices of cheese (or piles of grated cheese) on parchment paper and microwaving till they bubble and spread out.
One batch I made then put in an airtight pot and forgot about for over a year, but found them still edible when I re-discovered them.
I keep a small container of them in the car and use them for emergency snacks

Cheese crisps are usually baked or broiled in an oven, but look on Pinterest, everyone seems to have their own tips and tricks to make them. I just can never seem to get them to stay crisp like the Whisps. https://healthylivinghowto.com/look...-little-crunch/

Can also crisp salami while you are at it! https://www.dietdoctor.com/recipes/salami-cheese-chips

While at Costco for the Cello Whisps, near salad dressings not chips, look for variety packs of salami, pepperoni, etc... they have a good imported brand in the chilled cases near deli meat and a RI company, Daniele, http://www.danielefoods.com/pages/cfHome.cfm
that is high quality offering a multipack of their meat and cheese snack packs.

At Sam's Club today I purchased "ParmCrisps" original flavor. They're baked aged parmesan cheese (no other ingredient). The crisps are flat circles slighly less than 1 inch in diameter. They're very crunchy and very good. A 15 g serving has 100 calories and 0 g carbs. The 9.5 oz. package has 15 servings and cost $9.88.

My Sam's Club just had the original flavor but a websearch indicates there are 5 flavors:

http://www.kitchentablebakers.com/

The website says they're available at several major supermarket chains, including Food Lion, Publix, and Safeway, as well as multiple sources online.

Whole foods makes these, too. They are in produce section or cheese section, depending upon the store. They are great, and much cheaper than moon cheese, although I don't recall price off hand.

I like moon cheese, and often grab a bag or two when they are on sale (still over priced, but a fun treat once in awhile).
I have heard some Starbucks carry the, now, too if you find yourself tempted for a snack there.

Like the DietDoctor recipe above, in very hot oven with broiler if possible. Just put them on parchment paper (a must, not foil, that's a fail ) and watch them like a hawk! Goes from golden to burned in the time it takes to open the door. Dehydrators work for veggies but baking or microwave works better for me with cheese.
