Default Green tea helps in losing weight

Hi everyone, recently saw a dr on Oprah show and he said if you drink 3-4 cups of green tea a day for 6 weeks you will lose 10 pounds, well I tried this buying the green teas that are in the grocery store, the flavored ones and It does work, I drank nothing but water and green tea 4 cups a day for 2 weeks and I did lose 7 pounds I tried this cause I myself was stalled for awhile, but now I'm losing again, and I didn't change any of my eating habits I kept at the same amount of carbs per day under 40, so now I am making it a habit of drinking green tea everyday and of course it is healthier for you also.

I drink 5 to 6 cups of green tea a day, and I have definitely noticed a difference in my weight loss, and the pattern that I lose it in. I've been doing my own unofficial 'study' on it, I recorded it all in my journal if you are interested.

Make sure if you are drinking it for weight loss that you drink the kind that has caffeine. The process of making it decaffeinated removes the weight loss properties, or catechins, that are responsible for helping lose weight.

Not to mention green tea is just SO good for you!

Question green tea extract?

Does anyone know if green tea extract is as good as drinking the tea itself? Does it still have the weight loss properties?

Thanks.

Default one green tea caveat

Because I am hypothyroid, unfortunately, I was told that I can't drink tea due to the fluroide content of tea, esp in green tea. Wish there was some other way I could get the metabolism benefits w/out fluoride!!!

I drink Uncle Lee's legends of China. I buy it at Walmart here. Like Michele said though, buy the kind with caffine.

Try Salada brand green tea if you can get it. It's caffeinated and tastes great! I like all the Salada brands. They also have flavors like Apple & Spice which is currently my fave. Caffeinated as well, of course! Delicious!

I usually get Ten Ren green tea in teabags at for regular use. We also drink herbal teas in the evening instead of alcohol, since we both tend to stall on alcohol. On days when time permits we like to have tea ceremony and use good silver needle or pearl jasmine for that.

My mother (who recently passed away) would drink a lot of green tea to help her with her cancer.

Green tea is also supposed to help digestion.

Personally I dig the taste!
