Default Orchid's Exercise Hell

I am starting my official gym log today so that I can keep track of my exercise and how it changes. Today is Sunday, June 13th, and my weight is 239. It is also my day off from exercise so a good day to start this. I am pretty stiff from my work last week.

Today - Nuthin

Today I am resting again - looks like an exciting journal. This middle age sucks. My left heal has weird pain in it and my right knee was clicking this morning. My left knee has been weird but not painful. I will just need to adjust exercise as I go!

I am feeling better, my achilles tendon and knees seem fine today. So I went for a short treadmill workout - one mile. I will do more tomorrow. Daddio mentioned stretching to me and I never do that. I think I will start .

Treadmill - 2.8 miles (woops I actully meant to slow down more but it felt so good)

Leg Extensions - 10~20#s (these are tough for me, they are for the quads and with as much walking as I do I am surprised that they are so difficult, but they are)

We have LifeFitness equipment here in our apartment complex fitness center and this machine is missing the sticky with information about it. I am going to try to find more info on their website. So, in the meantime, I made up names for these arm exercises.

Pull towards abdomen - 20~30#'s
Pull down - 20~30#'s

Till Tomorrow

Friday

Treadmill - 2.76 miles
Pull towards abdomen - 20~30#'s
Pull down - 20~30#'s

I didn't use the leg extension machine because someone had readjusted the seat and I just couldn't get it back to upright. Ah, the joys of community equipment "). I did have the whole little fitness center to myself, which I enjoy. I watched Judge Mathis and part of the news.

Hi there -

Glad to see you're doing this!

If you don't mind some unsolicited advise...you might consider switching the order of your workouts - do your resistance stuff first, THEN do your cardio. You'll burn more fat this way.

And keep up with the good work!

Saturday:

Pull towards abdomen - 20~30#s
Pull down - 20~30#s
Leg Extension - 10~20#s
Shoulder Press - 5~20#s (This is the first time I have used this machine and I was amazed at how difficult it was for me. 5 was the absolute max I could do. Time to get busy!)

Treadmill - 2.9 miles (my best time yet)

Chest cold? In the middle of a hot summer? :-(
I hope very soon you feel better.

Thanks for visiting my gym log. Colorado... What a wonderful place. My younger son is grad student at U of Colorado - the #1 reason he chose this place for his PhD studies was falling in love with Boulder. I would trade our otherwise wonderful CA place in a minute for a Boulder home. Maybe if we win millions on lottery....

About your community gym. We have one here too, and I too enjoy to have "private" gym very often. (We even have a community pool.)
(I do not ashamed to work out with others, but the men usually prefer to watch sport programs, and the women news channels. Neither of them really inspiring for a hard work out.

Take care.

Eva

Tuesday and Wednesday

This cold has made me really sick so I haven't exercised. I want to though but Catherine threatened to lock me in the house. So I am being reasonable and staying in bed mostly. I miss my routine! And no doubt, I miss the endorphins!!!

Orchid,

Sorry you are not feeling well! I have the remnants of some head-cold thing and it's driving me nuts!

Congrats on starting the gym log! You go girl! I just started mine too and can't believe how much I love working out! What's up with that?
