Hi Cheley

I haven't tried Alpha Life but have tried Perfomax by Country Life. Found it in my Woolies here in Sydney and it was great. About 7.5 net carbs per slice

Default Egyptian Bread

When I am really keen on having a pizza, I use the 'Egyptian Bread Wholemeal'; its a 'pita' bread and it has 7.07g carbs per pita. I buy it at Coles in Manly - be careful not to buy the Egyptian Bread White, this one has more than 40g of carbs.

Thumbs up Thanks a lot!!!

Thankyou both to Karinda and SportyOz,

I have approached my local Coles and they do stock Country life breads, but are having trouble getting it at the moment... I found their site on the web if anyone is interested;

http://www.countrylifebakery.com.au/

So they will ring me when some comes in. I'll let you know what I think after I taste it!

In the meanwhile, I have been having, (on ocassions) RIGA - Light Wholmeal, it was 6.8 carbs per slice. (after fibre count reduced)
It very nice, toasts quickly, so be careful!! It very light in texture. Great for under the grill delights!!!

And SportyOz I will keep a look out for the Eqyptian pitas too! Great idea with the pizza topping!!

cheers Cheley.

Jordy05, what about cutting the pita bread horizontally (I do that so I get 2 pizzas!)? You can then have one half only, at 3.5g!! WHat a bargain!!

Hi Jordy05,
I get the 'egyptian' pita bread at Coles. It is in the bread section, together with the other pita breads; comes in a plastic transparent bag, I think there are 5 in a package. Good luck!

Nature's own makes the BEST low carb bread and I have found it for $2 at all the grocery stores around here but I don't know if it is a local brand or national. Anyay it tastes just like normal bread and nothing like the atkin's bread I couldn't choke down. And after subtracting fiber, it is only 5 grams a slice, a normal sized slice, not a mini slice like the tiny 3 carb a slice bread atkins sells for $10 at health food stores.

Uh...Froggie, I doubt if Nature's Own is an international brand. How's Texas this time of year?

Sorry you can't get it over there! Texas is SUPER HOT, you can't even go out in the middle of the day. And boy, those mosquitos are eating me alive!
