I've decided to not stress about missed days since my walking habit seems firmly established and I will get back to it quickly after a miss. Yesterday the temperature was below freezing and the wind was intermittently howling when it wasn't just blowing. Add my lack of sufficient sleep the night before and I threw in the towel and only went out to walk the dog around the block a few times.

It's turned bitter cold and windy here too .. not conducive to walking outdoors for any length of time. Thankfully I've got a selection of in-home walking dvd's to choose from so yesterday did a fast-paced 1 mile walk in my living room then later walked the perimeter of the grocery store before shopping. There's going to be a lot of sitting today .. visiting an elderly relative in another city with 1½ hr driving each way. Will do an in-home walk before I go, and try to squeeze in another this evening.


If anyone's interested in doing a quickie in-home walk, here's 500 steps in 5 minutes with Leslie Sansone
