Just piping up to say I'm enjoying the book. I like the style - a little less "modern" in the language than the blog - it will stand the test of time better I think. I like that he looks at everything we take for granted in a fresh way. I'm still only half way through - am reading 2 other books simultaneously.
For me, this is a book to savor.

Anyway, sure, time for a fresh thread. Just leave some bread crumbs - or flax seeds - to follow.

You are doing this wisely, unlike myself who sometimes randomly overdoes stuff

I've been doing the dinner-dinner alternate day fasting starting Sunday (dinner day). This is a really good, socially and habitually, pattern for me. I think it would fit most others lifestyle too. HOWEVER, the only thing that I think is missing from this pattern, at least with the experimenting I've been doing, is the challenge of "going to bed hungry" myth/concept that I had too wrestle with. It's a weak wrestling opponent once I learned that it's only move is "I'm bored, I should eat" Find something to do and slam it to the mat.

diabetic_d, you have already dealt with this spectre by doing the stopping at 3PM and waiting. It sounds like something in your mind changes the next morning. AWESOME! You are more aware. Something changes in my mind too. I'm not sure what it is but it's good, clear and peaceful. I don't seem to get that if I eat everyday.

Keep us posted on your findings and Thank You!

Agree with a new thread if that enables us to focus and comment on the book. I've just started it as well, and I'm pleased that, so far, it appears that the IDM blog topics have been linked together in a sequence that builds knowledge in a logical order with important added context. In addition, the writing is very fluid and transitions among topics make sense in the building of this "house of knowledge."
