If I want yogurt while LCing, I buy full fat(whole milk)yogurt. I can only find it plain in the grocery store(Dannen), and in large containers. I think it has approx. 4 carbs per 1/2 cup serving. Add some berries or SF flavoring and sweetener and you're in business! Some healthfood stores carry it in smaller servings, but it usually has regular sweeteners in it.
Also, you can make your own with half&half and/or cream. I've made my own regular yogurt with yogurt starter, but I haven't made any LC yogurt yet. Hopefully someone who has will post.

I make a litre of very LC soya yogurt using a yogurt maker. I add either vanilla extract or cinammon to serve.

I often make vegan cheese by putting it into a muslin in the fridge overnight. It is actually quite a versatile food.

That Dannon" lite and fit" is made with added sugars...thats why its 16 grms.

Dannon also makes, and is harder to find, "Carb and Sugar Control" yogurt which uses splenda.
I found it here at only one grocery and had to use Dannon's store locator to find it.
It has 3 grams of carbs per 1/2 cup serving.
Its comes in vanilla or strawberry...my favorite is the vanilla as I can add flavor to it.

Yoplait makes a yogurt with Splenda... it's called Source and comes in individual servings of 5 grms carbs per container in lots of flavors.

I absolutely adore Greek yogurt. It's carried now in many grocery stores and the plain, full fat has moderate carbs. It is thicker and creamier than regular yogurt. Add some liquid splenda (no carbs) and a sliced berry or two and you will be in heaven.

milk is already sweet. why would anyone want to add sugar to it? or splenda? full fat yogurt, or better yet, greek yogurt is outstanding just as it is.

I often eat yogurt, but I buy the plain full fat yogurt in the tub (very cheap this way also) and add some berries. I usually buy the bags of frozen berries, just make sure it has no added sugar. I add the berries to my bowl, nuke for about 30 seconds to defrost and spoon the yogurt on top. Yummy!

Because everyone's taste buds are different.

Another vote for greek yogurt
The brand I buy has only 1.8 grams of carbs per 100 grams (about 1/2 cup) and is rich and creamy enough for me to eat unsweetened.

As for bread for the occasional sandwich - make the revolution roll recipe but cook it in the microwave and it really does feel 'bready' to me.
I make one third of the recipe at a time (one egg white plus a pinch of cream of tartar whisked till really stiff, mix the yolk with one tablespoon of mayonnaise then fold in the egg white and pile into one big 'roll') to make a bun I can slice in half.
Or you could spread it out into a wrap shape instead.

Perfect jcass. Low carb is about re-training your taste buds to recognize sweet as insulin-inducing fat storage. Real foods tast great when you de-activate your damanged taste-buds from SAD.

I love Fage Total Greek Yogurt. I buy the full-fat version when I can find it. When it first came out I only saw it in one or two stores, but they always had the full-fat variety. Now just about every supermarket carries it around here, but most of them only carry the fat-free version! (bleh) or sometimes the 2%. Finding the original full-fat version is getting harder and harder.

But it's worth it. Ingredients are: milk, cream, active yogurt cultures. Now *that* is what yogurt *should* contain, and nothing else! If I stop being able to find I might go back to making my own - which I made from half-and-half, and which was pretty tasty anyway. Wonder if I still have my yogurt thermometer?
