Anthony Colpo done with the internet?
Someone posted a question on Anthony Colpo's Low Carb Muscle Forum, asking if he'd abandoned his own forum, since he had not been heard from in awhile. Here was Mr. Colpo's colorful response.
Quote:
Peggy told me about your question...I visit this forum infrequently to check for the occasional PM, but I no longer write articles or web posts on the internet. After 5 years of writing and posting stuff on the web, I'm thoroughly convinced that the diet/nutrition portion of cyberspace has more dickheads per square inch than a King Street nightclub. And the low-carb segment seems to have an unusually high proportion of tossers...maybe it's the lack of carbs affecting their brain function. I'll continue to use and recommend non-ketogenic low-carb diets for cutting purposes, but I want nothing to do with the low-carb movement per se.
My $20,000 challenge to that duplicitous little pansy, Dr Michael Eades, and his screwball metabolic advantage cohorts pretty much sealed the deal for me. Despite all their vitriol, and an entire month to compile and post the relevant research, they couldn't even begin to present any human evidence confirming the existence of MAD. The only response was an email from Eades himself, who - after admitting he could not meet the challenge - attempted to buy my silence with a highly suspect offer of assistance in getting a book deal. When that failed, he reverted back to his usual slander and character assassination.
That's when I realized it was time to let these idiots wallow in their own excrement and move on.
Needless to say, my time these days is spent on far more productive, fulfilling and lucrative endeavors than arguing with losers about cholesterol, non-existent "metabolic advantages", etc, etc or giving away valuable info for free...
However, in parting I will give one last piece of free advice to those reading this (which I'm sure most people will proceed to ignore, despite it being probably the most useful diet/training advice they will read this year):
Turn off the damn computer and get your flabby ass into the gym! And when you get there, train like you mean it! Most people spend WAY too much time on chat forums reading, talking, and arguing about diet and training, and nowhere near enough time actually training. If you spend more time each day on chat forums than you do working out, and then wonder why you are having such a hard time achieving your fat loss/strength/muscle growth/fitness goals...well, what can I say...
To those who have written over the years with kind words of appreciation and support, I extend my sincerest gratitude. As for all those disgruntled and pitiful weasels who have b!tched and moaned about me, spread malicious rumours and innuendo and flat-out lied about me in order to discredit me, because your pathetic little selves were so sorely threatened by the discomforting but unassailable facts I presented...you can all go suck good and hard on my Dickies workout socks.
Ciao,
Anthony
