Default Anyone here have low adrenal function?

I am getting tested. I was told that untreated hypothyroid can cause adrenals to try to compensate. I had a really stressful couple of years, no money, no insurance, no meds. Lots of stress. Right now I am totally exhausted. Doc thinks I may have lo adrenal function.

Has anyone been treated for this?

Ellen

Hi Ellen.

Can I recommend you read Dr Lams page on adrenal fatigue. You can treat yourself quite easily.

Hope that helps you.

Default thyroid and adrenal info

Hi elenalisa
I have thyroid and adrenal problems. There are two very helpful websites for info and support for these.
NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS~yahoogroups.com
NaturalThyroidHormones~yahoogroups.com

People from all over post questions on these sites. The moderators have been where you've been and are extremely knowledgeable.
Also, visit the Stop the thyroid madness website. They talk about adrenal and thyroid issues. Great information.

I have the opposite problem as you---hypothyroidism and hyperactive adrenal glands. Hyperactive active adrenals (not to be confused with Addison's or Cushings) is sort of the last stage adrenal glands go through before they finally go into the burnout/fatigue stage.

I hope you find these websites helpful.

I keep hearing people say they have adrenal fatigue but I don't think I've ever heard anyone actually report back after treatment saying that "By golly, I feel so much better now". Which kind of leads me to question whether it is real or not and if it is, does the treatment even work?
