Default D3 and blood pressure?

Is there any connection between highish-dose D3 and blood pressure? I'm trying to figure out what's going on and there are a lot of variables in the mix.

Blood pressure's been high (for me) since at least October (150/90). Been taking kick-butt prescription NSAIDs since May; will need until the second surgery (first one is next Friday). Bumped D3 to 6000 mg in December; just spiked a 172/92 reading with full symptoms. Felt like hell.

Skipping the latest NSAID today to let my system settle a bit, but I thought I'd ask if anyone knows a connection with D3. I can tell this particular NSAID is messing with my intestinal lining so there's a possibility it was a new-to-me salt sensitivity coming from that, although I don't know where to go to find that mechanism. Will go by the pharmacy for a package insert later today.

Thanks.

Default I am so hacked off...

Two pharmacists, two different doctors, an office nurse and a FPN all missed it, two of them telling me not to take my BP so often so I wouldn't worry.

From the package insert on the NSAID: NSAIDs, including Meloxicam, can lead to the onset of new hypertension or the worsening of pre-existing hypertension, either of which may contribute to the increased incidence of CV events.

Joe Graydon says it's just not that uncommon.

Feeling one's BP run up from 130/75 to 172/92 is not a fun experience. Felt like hell all day. Wonder what broke loose from the pressure, too, although I supposed I'd know by now.

Vitamin D3 has been shown to lower blood pressure so I don't think it's that.

I would check side effects from the NSAID.

Oops, I see you have.

Hey CS sorry to hear about your blood pressure. Hopefully it will go away once you can get off your meds.

I used to have high blood pressure, and here are some nutritional things I used to do that helped me. I'm sensitive to arachidonic acid, so I cut back on eggs and beef. That's a very YMMV. NSAIDS deplete both potassium and magnesium, but potassium first. If your kidneys are nice and healthy, take a solid dose of potassium, and see if that helps. I also found that B6 made a difference.

If you feel that it's messing with your intestines, you might also consider supplementing Glutamine, which is the amino acid your body uses most to make intestines out of. You might be able to fight a holding action.
