Smile Moving, moving, moving...must keep this butt a moving!!

Okay so today is the start of my gym log. I am trying to keep my butt moving as much as possible. Today so far I have went 45 min on the treadmill. I will try to do more this evening. I am hoping that exercise will help me get out of my slump. I am thinking about joining the gym to get some weight training in as well.
Does anyone find that lifting weights has helped them lose faster?

Anyway hopefully I will add to this log later.

Janice

Wow! 45 minutes is great!
Here's my story:
I've lost over 65 lbs. in 6 months doing Atkins. I joined Curves January 19th. Yesterday was my weigh and measure day (30 days)...I've lost 11 inches in one month. I really think it's benificial to work out where you can work each part of your body. I liked hearing that I lost in my arms, thighs....I think that if I had continued the diet without exercizing, that I would seriously lack muscle tone. The treadmill is great for your heart and you're burning off some serious calories and fat.....but I would recomend adding weight training.

Thanks for the tip.

I am going to join the gym to get some weight training in until I can by a weight machine.

Do you have a journal that I could post into?

Take care,
Janice

Well this morning I did 30 min on the treadmill. I found that I was tired this evening and really didn't want to go on again but I did and I went for 1 hour this time. I feel much better now and I am not tired at all.

Total of 1 1/2 hrs today and about 3 1/2 miles.

Keep on moving is what I have to tell myself.

No journal. -I don't think there's anything I could do for an hour...Maybe watch t.v.!!! I've had a few days that I've felt too tired to go to Curves and workout, but went anyway. It is amazing how good and full of energy you get after exercising. -- You are doing great!!!

Thanks Meagan,

I was pretty stiff today from doing the 1 1/12 hrs on the treadmill. I couldn't do my usual 30 min in the morning but I am going to try to do something on there right away. You seem to being doing awesome with whatever you are doing. If there were a curves closer to me I would have joined.

It is amazing how much energy you have after exercising. Well I must go and do some now.

Talk to you soon!

I have a pretty boring gym log as I do the same thing everyday right now. This afternoon I went on the treadmill for 45 min and I will probably go on again tonight. That is about it until I start weight training.

So I did 3 sets of 12 reps on all of the arm and back exercises. I should do stomach but I get such a neckache when I do crunches. I know that I do them wrong but cannot figure out the way to do them right.

Well again I went on my trusty treadmill. This time for 1 hour. I was intending on going for only 40 mins but I didn't feel too bad so I continued on. I don't walk to fast only between 2.7 and 3.2 as the speeds. I guess it doesn't matter too much as long as I am doing it.

So today I decided to try working out before breakfast which I was informed would help you to burn more fat and keep metabolism going longer. WE shall see I guess.

I did 30 min of upper body weights and 45 min on the treadmill.

Maybe I will try the treadmill later to.

Well I was down 1.5lbs so maybe the working out before breakfast helped.
Trying it again this morning, I did 45 min on the treadmill varying my speeds to get my heartrate working more.

You sound like you are doing great! Have you ever done an elliptical machine? You burn more calories on it....I like it as it makes me move my arms and legs at the same time and keeps my heart rate really consistent and goes up right away. Good Luck and congrats on your success....

So today has been a funny day. I was tired and lazed around until around 10:30 with the kids. I then got everyone dressed and beds made so I wasn't able to exercise until close to lunch. Anyway I did 40 weight training and was kind of spaced because I hadn't eaten any breakfast so I only did 25 min on the treadmill. I am going to go on it again right away.

I had to work my way up on the elliptical. When I started I could barely handle 8 minutes, it really kicks your butt! I am up to 35-45 minutes now. It has resistence levels; meaning, making it harder to step down on and to go and it also has incline levels so you can work legs and butt or just legs or just butt. The ellipticals with the arm bars are the best as you condition your arms at the same time. I think it's a great overall body conditioning. It shows your distance, and how many calories you are burning per minute and overall, similar to a treadmill. It isn't hard on your knees either. Walking or the bike pound on my knees. The elliptical or some people call it a glider is much easier on your knees. Thanks for the comment on my son! keep up the good work....
