Default What lc items do you order and where do you order them from?

I am wanting to place an order from Netrition for some zylitol, liquid sucralose, Designer Whey protein powders and sf orange Da Vinci's. Want to order one of those boxes of Baja Bob's sf Margarita mixes too, but they are back ordered.

Anyway, since there is a flat rate shipping fee I am wondering what else I should order? I would hate to place the order and then come across something I wished I'd known about needing.

And if you don't order from Netrition, where do you?

I order from lowcarb grocery, but they are in Canada, so I think Netrition is probably your best bet. A lot of folks here order from them.

I would also check out the ground flax meal and coconut flour if you intent to get adventurous in the kitchen. Both are used with great frequency. Also so coconut oil.

I'd stay away from the convenience foods - prepared SF dressings etc because you can make your own better and cheaper.

Mama Lupe tortillas are really yummy.

Heinz Reduced sugar ketchup. (Can't find it in the stores here, may be different where you are).

Have fun, I love on line shopping!

I recommend that you get more than just the orange DaVinci's. You'll find quite a few recipes that call for the French Vanilla, and you might find a bottle of either the Caramel or the Dulce de Leche handy to have around, as well. (I also use a lot of the Banana, because I like to make Banana Nut Flax Muffins. )

If you use Splenda, you might want to order some EZ-Sweetz. It's very concentrated liquid sucralose and has no fillers, so 0 carbs and 0 calories.

I also use Almond Meal quite often. I buy my flax meal and almond meal at a local organic foods store, but if it isn't available locally where you are, you'll definitely want to order some and keep a supply in your freezer.

Yes, most of the items both of you have recommended I can get locally. I have a source for many sf syrups, but they don't have orange and don't know if/when they might get any. Since I have a recipe I want to try that calls for it, thought I'd order.

I had forgotten about coconut flour, so glad you mentioned that, Weimie! I would have been disappointed in that one.

Thanks for the suggestion about EZ-Sweets, Kisal. I will check into that.

I'm a little bummed they moved the thread to here, since this forum doesn't seem to get a lot of traffic.

xanthan gum for thickening sauce and I second the ez sweetz. A lot of this stuff you can get locally. To be honest, I bought a lot of the sugar free syrups at tj maxx . . .

Had not thought to look at TJ Maxx!!! I get the syrups from World Market...Will TRY to remember to check TJ Maxx. How much do you pay for big bottles there?

I can also get xantham/guar gum locally, but it is just SO expensive and not sure it is worth it just to thicken things. Is it cheaper when you order it?

I honestly can't remember. I bought both the first time around at least 4 years ago and I still have the bottles/bag and they're still good so. . . I honestly can't be sure tj maxx still has them but they had a ton when I was stocking up. Where do you get the guar gum locally?

When I order from Netrition, I occasionally order Carbquik (I use it mainly for pancakes). I also like the Bella Vita Low Carb Pasta Sauces, the NOW Stevia Glycerite, and the Nature's Hollow Sugar Free Honey Substitute (sweetened with xylitol). The Smackeroos crackers are nice for an occasionally crunchy snack, although the actual flavor would be an individual choice. (I like the sesame and the cinnamon best.)

I think that the Joseph's Middle East Bakery Reduced Carb/Flax, Oat Bran & Whole Wheat Pita Bread is great. It's available at netrition, although I usually buy it at my local super Wal-Mart.

Our local groceries (Kroger and Albertsons) have health food sections and carry it. Also two local health food stores.

This is not something you have to order, but I buy ragu no sugar added tomato basil pasta sauce. It's truly no sugar and they don't add splenda or anything sweet. I hate sweet sauce. The ingredients are like tomato and spices and that's it. And it's less than 2 bucks a jar. I always look and if they happen to have it I'll buy a few because it's always hit or miss.

Not sure if you wanted the liquid mix but I just ordered Baja Bob's sf Margarita mix in the bottles - you get 3 for like $16 on amazon He also has martini mixes that are SF and mojito mixes YUM

I don't order things, but the low carb products I try to keep handy are:

always:
1. sf torani syrups
2. smuckers sf jam- esp orange marmalade and apricot jam (great for making asian (spicy orange) shrimp recipes!)
3. Alpine sf cider mix
4. sf popsicles, creamsicles or fudgesicles

sometimes keep around:
1. shirataki noodles
2. whey (considering ditching this as it makes my blood sugar spike)
3. flax meal and almond meal

Well, this has been quite handy for me, if not for anyone else! I've been on the look out for low sugar ketchup. It's like golden eggs around here! Every time I find it, the store ends up discontinuing it. Can I get any dietary supplements from netrition as well?
