Thumbs up Great May 8 Challenge!!

Welcome everyone!!! The object of this challenge is to lose 1 1/2 pounds a week from March 20 to May 8. This is 7 weeks, so we are shooting for 10.5 pounds during this time.

We will have our first weigh-in on March 20 and hopefully we will check in frequently to give support and tell of our great progress.

Good Morning ladies!! I'm starting this challenge at 168.8, so my goal will be 158.2 (It really should be 158.3, but my scale shows .2 increments).

Good luck to everyone!!!

Yeah...another challenge!! Unfortunately, my weekend has not gone quite as planned - instead of losing 1 pound I'm up 1 pound. Guess that Hagen Daz bar at the Circus on Friday night didn't really taste that good Oh well, stupid mistake or not, I'm back on track again today! Had a cheese omelete for breakfast and am going to the mall for a 2-hour walk with sis.
Stopped by my library and picked up the No Cravings Cookbook by Dr. Heller yesterday - there's a whole lot of good recipes in there that I need to try. I'm going to make the Sixties Shepherd's Pie for dinner tonight - with the snow storm outside, minus 17 windchill and a 2 hour walk, I think I'll need a bit of comfort food tonight! I'm hoping this is the last of winter here - I'm ready for spring already!!
Good luck to everyone in this challenge!!
(for the record, I'm at 171 today and my goal by May 8 is to be at 160 or less)

Hi everyone!

Weight this morning was 183. I think TOM had something to do with that. I am usually up a couple. I am putting my goal at 175. I am aiming for about 1 pound a week. We shall see...

Hi Sue, LilPunkin, and Jacqueline!! Count me in on this one, too! I got down to 133 for the Paddy's Day challenge, but work has been awful and I have been coping with chocolate, so I am back up to 135. My goal will be 124.5, and I am so gonna make it this time!! I am also going to strive for exercise 4 x per week.

Jacqueline, we will make it to the halfway mark during this challege!!

Good luck to everyone!!

Hi and welcome to the challenge! I was wondering how long it took to lose the weight? We started out at the same place and I am going slow (I am cheating a lot though!). I was just wondering if I can expect to get my goal anytime soon.

Good luck!!

Welcome!!! Well, TOM came to visit yesterday so that would explain the huge cravings that I was having yesterday. I have never "cheated" in the sense of eating non-low carb foods since Jan 1 of this year. I have "cheated" by eating too many low carb foods. I guess it all adds up. I'm back to strict induction today and I know it will kick start my loss.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

LilPunkin, I know how you feel - I don't indulge in non-LC foods, but have been known to over-indulge in the LC ones from time to time. We just need to take it one day at a time, because we can't go back and there's no sense in beating ourselves up for it either. I've started on the meat/egg fast for the next 3 days and am hoping that will kick start me in the right direction! Together, I think we can do this!!!
Enjoy your day - we're having a nasty blizzard today - Welcome, Spring!!? Oh well, at least I can get some exercise in tonight by shovelling the 10-15cm off my walks!!
Sue

Hi Andi - I started on Jan. 3rd. 2005 at 147, lost only 1 pound the first week, them -4, secon, -2, third, -2 fourth, -2 fifth, -2.5 sixth, 0-seventh,0-eigth,
-6 - ninth, -1 tenth.

On Induction I didn't count calories (just kept carbs real low)

2nd wk. I put every calorie in fitday.com and according to fitday I have to keep my (weekly) calories (to loose) around 7000 calories, so I will have 900 on weekdays and 1200 on (weekends) (Miller light included.. )

I know Atkins is not watching calories...but this has worked for me..

I should be 120 by 4/29 according to fitday..I will keep you posted..

You are doing great, I thought I would never see the 120's again but it surprised me over night three weeks ago,

I am on week eleven..

I do not eat cream cheese or cream (I use real butter, but only one pat) and only olive oil and dash of vinager on salads.
I
Really watch portion size, I just started eating these cinamin pork grinds, but if they stall me...I will wait till I am on maintenance. I eat meat/eggs when I want to (snack) no LC products for me right now. ( I did buy carbquick mix, that I am trying for the first time tonight) but other than that I don't use the bars, drinks or chocolates.

Have a great Hump Day
