I make coconut bark, not because I need chocolate but it's a way to get more coconut oil in my diet.

i find that a couple pieces of 90% chocolate cures my chocolate cravings. i figure this is a life plan and the thought of never having chocolate doesn't seem realistic for the rest of my life, so 90% it is and it works quite well.

i really don't have many cravings these days. i've been on plan since may, 2011 and i haven't went off a single time. this is the best lifestyle choice i could have ever made.

"I make my own with cocoa, coconut oil, butter and sweetener ( as little as possible) heat gently, then spoon into trays into freezer. It does not drive me to a feeding frenzy."

This is a great idea! I'm going to have to try this tonight. I don't eat chocolate very often simply because the candy bars upset my stomach these days and the sugar free/90% chocolates leave a bad taste in my mouth.

If you can find some of the really high cocoa-content chocolate (85% or higher) it really doesn't have a very high level of carbs when you net out the fiber content. I think the bars have about 10 net grams of carbs per serving with about 2.5 total servings. Even if you go crazy and eat the entire large bar, that's only 25 grams of carbs.

I personally love Cadbury's milk chocolate and almond bars, even more than similar but much higher-priced chocolate bars. My PR is eating four of them in one sitting but I probably could have eaten more than that. A substitute I can live with though is to eat a few squares of really dark chocolate such as Ghirardelli 86% cocoa along with some lightly salted almonds at the same time. Not only is it relatively low carb and delicious, it completely satisfies my Cadbury's cravings.
