Default Ketosis?

Hi Guys

Just a quick question. Are you in ketosis on this plan?

I assume not as if you eat more than about sixty grams it normally knocks you out and you can easily eat that during your RM. I wonder though, that by limiting the time you eat for and avoiding the insulin rush, you also stay in ketosis?

If you're not, how come you don't feel hungry during the day? I am not complaining of course, just curious.

Thanks for any help in advance

Zara xx

Zara,
I did discover that if I restrict myself to just 30 g. of carbs during the day that I do in fact test positive for either trace or small ketones right around dinner time. Its usually always 24 hrs after I ate my RM the previous day and as long as I don't go over my 30 g. that day or the previous day. I don't know where I got this idea other than by trial and error. I know the Hellers never mention ketosis so I know it wasn't from their book. I can't wait to get that book again because I really need to refresh my memory. I've been doing it on and off for so long that I'm really not sure what adjustments I've made on my own. I don't remember if they tell you in the original CAD book how many carbs you should eat for your CM's do they?

hi-
the CAD plans do not talk about ketosis- and I/ve never tested.
The amount of carbs in RM is up to you. You are not supposed to have anything but veggies from the approved CM list and protein for cms. If you have something perpared for CM or salad dressing or such the sugar or whatever should not be in the first 4 ingredients I think.
