Default Question about DH

DH quit smoking about 16 weeks ago and since then his throat has been extremely irritated.

He constantly feels like he is going to gag, it is red and sometimes swollen.

His Dr. sent him for allergy test cause he couldn't think off any other reason for it. That wasn't it.

Has anybody else experienced this or have any ideas what it could be? I don't want him to try smoking again to see if it will take it away.

Thanks for any help or ideas.

Amanda

hi amanda- i quit once before for 8 months and experienced similar problems- sore throat, excessive coughing, even dry heaves. my dr said it was because my body was recouping and trying to repair the damage caused by smoking. it did go away after a while, but i dont think it took 4 months. i hope the dr can find some cause for him.

Thanks,

He now has an appointment with an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist. Even though we had to really pressure his doctor into making the referral. Hopefully he will find out something soon.
