Hi,

I low carbed back in 2002-2004 fairly successfully. Had lost about 40lbs, and was feeling pretty good. Slipped up too many times, and just sort of gave up. 4 days ago, I began again, after my weight creeped up past the 300 mark. This time, I just started cutting out the white stuff. Heard about Taubs' book "Why we get fat" and spent the last few days lurking here and reading. I know that LC is the way to go, already feeling more energy, and was shocked the scale had moved. Hoping to continue feeling more energetic. I set my goal at 100 lbs, but really, I will be happy with a maintained 50 lbs loss. I am looking for support, the site I was on years ago went away, but this one seems like a good place to be.

Hello!

I'm in a similar boat - returning after a long time away. there is a lot of support here, and lots of ways to do this. There are different groups, journals, all sorts of things. I'm glad you're makng some progress and I hope to get to know you some!

Thanks for the welcome! Last time I low carbed we lived far from home, so it was just my DH and kids. They were too little to remember. I love that my DH tells them, no you don't understand, she won't eat (whatever). They ask for how long, and he tells them a long long time. My mom and sis say " your still doing it?" (after a week). I am looking forward to them just accepting that this is the way I eat.
