Default Hello from Wisconsin

Hi!
I started low carb-ing awhile back but always seem to give it up because I never seem to find a variety of low carb foods that I like.

I have been very heavy and very thin. The weight on my scale ranged from 89 pounds to 220pounds. As the years passed, I have found that I am most comfortable at 120. I have recently put on extra weight because of new medications I have been taking.

My doctor suggested low carb because I was told my medication makes it extra hard for me to burn carbs.

I wont lie. I'm a carb-aholic and could sit all day and eat crackers and bread.
I have been strong though and at least eliminated them from my diet for quite some time.

The thing is, I just don't seem to lose weight eating low carb either. Maybe I haven't given it enough time?

I have previously stuck to the diet for three weeks without losing a pound.

I just bought a bowflex max5 and will start regularly exercising tomorrow. I hope that helps.

Hello and welcome!

You might want to look into learning to bake low carb crackers. They can be a delicious substitute. Check out paleo and low carb baking web sites, or check the cooking forums here.

Low carb doesn't have to be boring.

Welcome - from one Wisconsinite to another!

I'm glad your doc sees value in low-carb. When you really dig into the science, it's pretty clear why low carb is a superior alternative to other dieting strategies. Good luck!
