Default Newbie question

I'm new to PP and will have the book tomorrow.
I've read some online but am eager to read the book for myself.
I was on Atkins and lost 10lbs, then quit and never was able to get back into the swing of things.

I'm not trying to lose alot fast and only needing to lose about 20lbs, which is alot for me, but I know it is more difficult the less you have to lose, so I hope to succeed.

During the first couple of weeks, about how much should I expect to lose?
I know I shouldn't concern myself with numbers, but I do.

Thanks!

The amount one loses on PP depends one's metabolic suitability for a low-carb diet. Some people, like me, shed a lot of weight fast (40 lbs in the first eight weeks) and thrive on this high-fat (65% of calories) regimen. Some people will suffer on this diet, and will succeed on a Zone-type food plan.

If PP and nothing you've tried works well for you, I suggest you check out the The Nutrition Solution: A Guide to Your Metabolic Type by Kristal and Haig. My hope is that in a decade, we'll accept that not everyone thrives on eating the same things.
