Default Pruney Fingers

Just an observation:

A few weeks back I concluded I was chronically dehydrated, (which I was), but one of the symptoms upon which I based my conclusion was "pruney fingers".

My fingers did get better after I changed my plan to include a mandatory daily requirement of fluids, but I was still having some problems with pruney fingers. I read that it could be due to thyroid and made a mental note to have that checked at my next blood test.

Well, as I mentioned in my journal, the past week or so I have been very lax in checking my blood sugar. Prior to that I had been checking it 10 or more times a day at various times. I learned early on that I always had to wash my hands thoroughly before using the lancet to make sure the test was not contaminated. You see where I'm going...

My pruney fingers comptely disappeared over the past couple weeks but have come back since I started re-testing my blood sugar yesterday.

Conclusion: Washing your hands with soap and water 10 times a day plus doing it every time you use the facilities may cause pruney fingers :P
