I choose 282.5 because that is 1/2 of my total body weight (565) from when I started this way of life, it is not my final goal. And also because the last time I was around 280 lbs people saw me as perhaps being overweight, but not obese. I was a very active 280 lb man. I will however never be 180 unless I suffer from extreme muscle tissue loss or lose a leg. I was 180 lbs in middle school playing JV football with no extra body fat on my frame. My maintenance weight will probably be in the range of 220-230.
