Hello All -- I've been crazed with end-of-school (for kids, not me) June madness, but my big reward for feeling somewhat caught up today is to check in with you all. I'm finally figuring out how to navigate the site, and appreciate the webmasters sending reponses when I post. I can see the site is organized by "issue" or subject, and now can see the most recently active subjects are listed at the top. Do I have that right?

Anyway, weight is finally starting to drift off. However, I am also stretching the boundaries of exactly what carbs are permissible under SP. That said, I'll try to regroup, retrench, etc. I continue to feel MUCH BETTER than I have in years. I've also started the process of a thyroid workup. I think someone on this site was explaining what to have tested, which I've now had done by my GP, and will now take to a specialist. I went to a headache doctor about 6 weeks ago who told me if I have even borderline low thyroid (which I do), that would be affecting my weight, sleep, headaches, and just about every other condition I'd written on his form. Will fill in on that as it evolves.

Re Betty and her post a few months ago about corn-fed beef and dairy products -- I have wondered the same thing. SP mentions the issue in passing, but in The Fat Flush Plan, Gittelman goes into it in detail. One stat (I'll try to double check this by the next time I post) was something like that milk from grass-fed cows has 800 times the amount of conjugated linoleac acid as that from corn-fed cows. Really alarming.

Lots more to say, but now family has converged.
