I chipped my car out of the ice this morning to make a grocery run. Out of eggs! Oh no!

However, the sticker shock came in the produce section, where an ordinary head of cauliflower was priced at $8.99! I'm still getting over paying $5/head at Thanksgiving. Everybody HAD TO HAVE mashed fauxtatoes, and how could I refuse a request like that?

I'm pretty well spoiled by the privilege of buying all kinds of fresh veggies at all times of the year. But reality sets in when weather patterns go nuts.

So I bought a cabbage, and will do something delicious with it.
