Take a look in the General Exercise forum for a thread about thermogenics like hydroxycut....you'll see TONS of info there. You can also use the search feature.

I also suggest starting a journal. Are you exercising? If not, 3000 cals may be too many. Do you have a history of yo-yo dieting? This, of course, will lower your metabolism over time and needs to be taken into consideration when calculating your BMR.
Ideally, you should take in 500-600 calories a day LESS than your energy spent (caloric OUTput). Don't make the mistake of thinking that a higher calorie deficit will help you lose weight faster..... in the long run it will only hamper your efforts.
