Hi there - funny you should mention Lotte Berk, but i first bought her excercise (LP) BACK IN THE LATE 70'S, and i have to say watching the fluidity dvd's reminded me of those excercises, very much the same. I too was wondering about the Supreme Pilates, but it isn't as intense so you dont work up a sweat, so you would have to incorporate cardio, out of the two i think fluidity is better. As for using a chair, i dont think that is possible as you put quite a bit of pressure onto the bar, so using a chair would only make it tip up. Hope this helps.
