Default Impossible Sausage & Cheese Pie

Had this for dinner last night, but I'm sure it would be great for breakfast, too!

Impossible Sausage & Cheese Pie:

1 lb ground pork
1 large onion, chopped (1 cup) (15 carbs)
1/2 tsp salt or seasoning mix including salt (I used Cajun seasoning, which is a mixture of salt, peppers & spices)
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese (2 carbs)
1/2 cup Carbquik (3 net carbs)
1 cup buttermilk (12 carbs)

Follow the instructions here:

32 net carbs per entire recipe; 5.3 carbs per serving (serves 6); or 8 carbs per serving (serves 4)

If you want, you could substitute half-n-half or half cream and half water for the buttermilk, and this would result in a lower carb count. I had the buttermilk anyway, because I am planning on making some ranch dressing and wanted to find other uses for it.

I wanted to make the cheeseburger pie but discovered I didn't have any hamburger! Fortunately, I'd just purchased a pound of ground pork.

This is extremely rich and filling. One-sixth of the recipe is plenty if combined with a salad starter and a vegetable side dish. Finally, a Carbquik recipe that I like! I can see myself making all KINDS of "impossible pies"!
