Jakz, I don't have any logical answers for you. It can be tough to see the numbers do things we don't want them to be doing, and even harder when it seems like we're doing everything right, like you are.

Do not let those numbers sabotage you. Tell them to f* off and then you go do something fun. And eat a damn steak while you're at it.

There are a million reasons why you could be up on the scale and it could come bouncing back down any day. If it really sticks around, my usual go-to is just mixing things up for a day: Have a (relatively) high carb day. Add calories. Eat nothing but protein shakes. Spend the day at the beach or pool in the water and burn a lot of calories. Spend the entire day sleeping late and lounging on the sofa. I think sometimes our routine acts like a broken record--instead of sending us spiraling towards where we want to go, it just glitches and we need to give it a nudge. Totally unscientific theory, of course.
