If you have not attempted garlic you should! check with your cooperative extension and see when the best time to plant it is ..the thing I love about this is ..I plant mine crowded together at the end of October and in June I thin them and have garlicy scallions....then...I get the garlic flowers to cook ..they taste like crispy garlic string beans! the end of July early August the tops die and I have the most amazing home grown garlic I you can imagine!

three crops of things that are garlicy for one effort of planting ..

I do two raised beds and still never have enough to last me a year ...(of course I give some away but mostly we eat it)

I wanted to plant more winter things and am sure in my climate I can ...

I have berries...fruit trees (I planted all dwarf and all 5 way trees so they would not take up much room)

maybe next year I will try more veggies ..
but really I would be so happy with perpetual blooms of my flowers
