Sounds like you are doing well! Yes, there are lots of tips and tweaks to get going if you aren't, or to get past a stall or plateau, and yes doing if the "purist" way possible is the gold standard, but it's also fine to be willing to lose a little slower if you wish to vary it - some really like an alcoholic beverage now and again, some eat higher carbs or a bit more variety. It is all about finding the balance that lets you lose weight AND feels comfortable and doable. Just as long as you plan it in with intention and don't "cheat". I lost 40 pounds a few years ago while drinking my Starbucks mocha latte every day, but I made sure I wasn't slipping in any other areas!
