Nina Teicholz's book, The Big Fat Surprise has enjoyed great staying power with the fight in the BMJ over her critique of the guidelines and then the Ketogenic diet taking off. I am re-reading it now and all the errors in "data" from the Mediterranean "diet" are truly mind-boggling, starting with the observation that lard was used more for cooking.
