I had a "thyroid storm" - and all the other symptoms of Graves except heart failure. I was hospitalized twice for severe depression, which was a direct result of the Graves. I was so sick I was begging the doctors to take the tyroid out - and had to wait so they could get me stabilized enough to have the surgery. I can assure you, hyperthyroid is no answer to weight loss.
