I DO take a 1,000 mg Vit C supplement daily, sometimes 2,000, but that's only because of a book I read many years ago by Dr. Linus Pauling on the universal value of Vitamin C in large doses for preventing just about everything one doesn't want. Well, except body fat, of course.
