It is expensive, but a little goes a long way. There is a conversion chart right on the bottle. Some examples:

4 drops = 1 tsp sugar
24 drops = 1/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 tsp = 1 cup sugar

I think it's worth it, but I know what you mean - I had the same reaction when I first saw the price. I'm going to order more this week.
