Barbara, So, If someone is under 30g carbs, they're calories should be over 1800cal?
Well, no. However, it does sound like I was making a flat statement about calories. Everybody's different. But I don't think counting calories is best in achieving a sustainable LC lifestyle.

The truth is, I believe that a 30g carb plan "should" result in a menu that adequately meets the energy requirements of the body when other aspects of the menu are also adjusted (fat and protein). Some people will end up eating more, some less, as counted by "calories." I don't think the calorie count is relevant. The signs are good when hunger, appetite, cravings, moods, and energy level are under control. Weight loss, which may also happen, is something each body tends to decide for itself. Bummer, I know.
